Sara J. Dunnigan serves as the Executive Director of the Virginia Board of Workforce Development. The Board provides policy guidance and strategic oversight to the state’s publicly-funded workforce system which spans eight agencies and twenty-four workforce development programs. Prior to joining the state workforce board, she spent eighteen years working in economic development, where she developed a deep appreciation for the role of workforce development in the competitiveness of firms and the economic prosperity of places and people.
